Wiosna 2018 Row 3

Row 3 has been posted on Renulek's blog and I have almost completed the round.  I am ready to start the split ring to climb on to round 4 but I am not sure what picot would work best.  By best I mean what do I need to do to finish the round and make it easier to go on to the next round and so on.

If you have never made a split chain this is a good reason to learn how to do it. Just estimate a bit shorter as all that tugging will make it grow anyways. Also, if you get a point, these usually disappear by the time you get to the next round.

I am using a King Tut Quilting thread by Superior Threads color 918.  This thread is much easier to use than the Sulky thread I used a few years ago. The current size is 2 inches or 5.5 cm

  2. Thanks Carollyn, I find that if I post my shuttle and be sure to let the shuttles hang and unwind often then this thread is very nice to work with. I will be purchasing more in the future.

  3. Your split chain looks great. It is a good technique to be able to use.

  4. Oh enjoying watching your doily grow. I am also at the same stage but could not see how to climb out to the next round, so I cut the thread!! A split chain worried me for years but now I can do them, yeah! Agree a marvellous technique especially when on a project such as this.

  5. Love the playful color! I’ve not figured out how to climb out, so I’ve been cutting and weaving in those pesky ends. It’s quicker than trying to figure it out!

  6. Look at that split chain. The colors kept the alternation just perfectly!! I have some King Tut coming in tomorrow. Never used it before. What size is it in tatting sizes? I have used Sulky. I like the Sulky but everyone seems to really like the King Tut. Can't wait.
