Another year of tatting, I can see I get just a little bit better with each year.  I saw my largest improvement when I attended my first conference.

Thinking of attending one in 2023, I have listed some in the USA below, sadly there is no event planned in Canada.  Perhaps I will see you at one  or two :)

Blame it on Diane

Sometimes you get a pattern in your head and you just can't stop tatting it.  Well that happened a few days ago and along came all these icedrops.  Made popular by Diane Cademartori.

I had posted about these earlier here. So it appears that I have again gotten Icedrop fever.  The pattern is a slight variation on the pattern Purple Fudge Ice Drop and is made in one pass.  Patterns can be found in the files of the Facebook page Ice Drop Addicts. hmm, seems to be a theme here.
Over the years I have had many of these glass drops gifted but I mostly had a bag of clear ones.  I painted the flat bottoms with nail polish, one or two coats as needed.  Then tatted these up using some 6 strand Sanbest polyester thread.

Finally I used earring stops and a coilless pin to create one into a brooch.

Silver Bells

Sorry, no Christmas tunes here, just tatting.  These are two bells I have tatted before but with a Sanbest thread to make them sparkly and using up my chandelier crystals.

The first bell is a pattern by Ewa, she shares the pattern on her blog.

The second bell is by  Renulek and the pattern was available on her Etsy site. I left off the last row.

For Carollyn

The designer of these "Fairy Wings" is Carollyn Brown who passed away in September.  She was an excellent tatter among her many talents.  We had exchanged  emails as we had a few things in common but I never met her.

Using up my stash of chandelier crystals I revisited one of my favorite wings.  These were done using 54 red seed beads all on shuttle two as they appear on the throw off rings and a silver sanbest thread.  I created a halo using one row of gold seed beads.  Carollyn also had a few videos up on YouTube and used the name Madtatter80, I provide links below.
