WELCOME ALL! and About Me

Hi, and welcome to the Knot Vortex

I'll talk about many different things here mostly about my crafts and a place to share my progress, triumphs and failures. Hope you'll enjoy the stories and pictures and we'll be virtual friends.

At the age of 13 my mother taught me to tat using an England Aero and a cream Susan Bates shuttle.  At that time I only used rings and completed an edging for a hankerchief using orange thread.  I never did learn to use two shuttles and it would be 40  plus years before I would learn to make chains and the passion for tatting was rekindled.

I have taken tatting classes at Camp Wanna Tat, Fringe and Shuttlebirds. In 2019 I attended Palmetto Tat Days.   I am a member of the Ring of Tatters, the Wild Rose Lacemakers Guild and the Calgary Guild of Needle and Fibre Arts. I am registered as a Lacemaker in Canada with the Canadian Lacemakers Gazette. This August 2019 I enjoyed doing tatting demos at Pioneer Acres in Irricana, Alberta.
If you are located in or near Calgary Alberta Canada, I would love to get together for a chat and tat and share my studio space with you.

Best,
Bernice
