I'll talk about many different things here mostly about my crafts and a place to share my progress, triumphs and failures. Hope you'll enjoy the stories and pictures and we'll be virtual friends.
At the age of 13 my mother taught me to tat using an England Aero shuttle. At that time I used rings only and completed an edging for a hankerchief using orange thread. I would take another 40 years before I would learn to make chains and use two shuttles at the same time. By 2013 I had rekindled my passion for tatting and it is now my primary craft.
I have attended tatting classes at Camp Wanna Tat, Fringe and Shuttlebirds. In 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024 I attended Palmetto Tat Days. I am a member of the The International Organization of Lace, Ring of Tatters, Wild Rose Lacemakers Guild and the Calgary Guild of Needle and Fibre Arts. I am registered as a Lacemaker in Canada with the Canadian Lacemakers Gazette. In August of 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024 I have provided tatting demos at Pioneer Acres in Irricana, Alberta. I have won first, second and third place ribbons for my tatting in the Calgary Stampede Creative Arts competition. I have taught classes in Montana USA and Calgary Alberta.
If you are located in or near Calgary Alberta Canada, I would love to get together for a chat and tat and share my studio space with you.
Best,
