Just a little oops

Sometimes the only solution is to get the scissors out and cut away the tatting.  This is Round 17 of the Monster Doily and although I had to cut, I am thankful that I found the mistake so quickly.

That is a little round magnet on the scissors as they usually are attached to a metal cabinet next to my tatting table just within reach.

Carollyn has suggested that I reuse the tatting and I have put it into my design binder for future inspiration.   This was cut from Row 17 of the "Monster Doily", yes I am on Row 17.

But I am also full of distractions too and have started the Renulek Spring Wiosna2017  Doily.  I am using up some of my Vintage threads, this is some J&P Coats size 60 Color 21.  I plan to climb to Row 3 once it is released.

Practice makes Perfect

Practice makes perfect or so they say,  BUT there is a (mini) pattern error in every one.  I continued on and the hearts can still be great giveaways to promote tatting.

Tatted with  Manuela Size 20 color 213, this is the Butterfly Heart by Irene Woo.

One of my friends asked how long it takes to tat one heart, I said about 45 minutes but that is without stops which rarely happens. Two full clover shuttles will be enough for three hearts.

Valentines Day

I'm sitting here eating some chocolate and I just finished this lovely heart bookmark for my partner. He has a few tatted bookmarks already but not a heart one.

I have used a Manuela Size 20 color 213. The larger heart is one of my favorites to tat, the Butterfly Heart by Irene Woo.  The smaller one on the end of the tail is the Celtic Heart 2013 by Ruth Perry. We will be shopping later and I will have a chance to pick up a book for him and slip this in.

I've tatted the Butterfly Heart many times before and coincidentally wrote about it on Valentines Day 2015.

Wishing you all a wonderful Valentines Day.

Tat it and see 1 2 3

Another year of Tat it and See has come to an end, I share my progress and the resulting tatting with you.  Of course I never guess what it is but many had it figured out early. This was done with size 20 Lizbeth 109 Wild Flower and measures 2.75 inches or 6.5 cm finished.  So much fun seeing all the tatting threads, shuttles and needles from around the globe. If you'd like to see what others have done and join in next year here is the link

I have a few repeats of round 17 completed on the Monster Doily and it continues to be my main focus. Happy Tatting.
