New Threads

Treated myself to some new threads. These are Hakelgarn and I wonder what they will become.  Please do feel free to suggest.

Below is Manuela Color 213 size 20, not too bad of a thread and added it to the order as an afterthought.  This is Hearts Desire by Susan K. Fuller and I have done it a few times before.

I did see a knot as I was winding my shuttle and ran into some slight unevenness in the thread so I adjusted my tension so it did not cause any issues.

The pattern for this heart can be found on Le Blog de Frivole on the patterns page.

Jan Stawasz Moje Robotki 8/2007 Huge Doily tat-along Row 7

The doily currently measures 45.5cm or 18 inches point to point. I wonder if I should be calling it a doily anymore as it will soon be a tablecloth and I hope it will fit. I just realized that I have taken this picture with the wrong side facing. It will have to do for now.  I just don't have the time to become a great photographer too!

On this last round my thread kept getting caught on the points and rings.  Any suggestions to keeping the thread and project clean?

Josephine Cross

The Josephine Cross was a small project I made with size 80 DMC.  This is a Ben Fikkert pattern which I have always admired.   Do you recall my Collar Bookmark , well I gave that bookmark to my sister, blue is her favorite color and she told me she put it in her bible.  I really felt she needed something better for the bible so when I found this thread in a local yarn shop I just had to make her something special.  It is just off the shuttles so a little ruffled which will be flat by Sunday as she has already slipped it into her bible.
I find that crosses give you a lot of practice on edgings and how to turn corners also each one challenges me as a tatter.  They are very useful as gifts too.  Do you have a favorite cross?

Day 1 TIAS

Tat it and See with Jane Eborall has begun, you can find the introduction here and  Day 1 here.  My Day 1
starts are below.

I have also included a few pictures of the Rocky Mountains which I took with my phone while we were travelling from BC to Alberta province.  Enjoy

Happy New Year

Sorry for the late New Years  post but just returned from a trip and had enough time to finish the Travelling Doily.  The doily was finished in the same city where it began. I am very pleased with the result.  I still have the ends to tie in, give it a wash and do a little blocking as it is already sitting nice and flat.

I already have someone in mind to gift this to, it was made with Hakelgarn 20 color 58 pea green.
